CPE CF112 Carbon | Fillamentum

CPE CF112 Carbon is an industrial-grade carbon-fiber-reinforced version of CPE HG100 filament. It was engineered for withstanding long-term load (great creep resistance) and has outstanding mechanical properties. Loaded with 100-micrometer long milled carbon fibers, the printed products have a smooth, matt finish. When compared to CPE HG100, it has superior wear resistance, heat distortion temperature, hardness, and chemical resistance. When printing with CPE CF112, make sure to use a hardened nozzle and an adhesive; without a separating layer of adhesive, the high adhesion to other materials can damage your bed. CPE CF112 Carbon prints easily thanks to its perfect bed adhesion and great interlayer adhesion and also, it doesn't warp. With great dimensional stability, this material is the perfect choice for industrial applications.

How to store filaments

Humidity and UV light can decrease the filament quality and weaken its mechanical properties. We strongly recommend storing open filaments in a dry and dark place. You can find a complete guide on how to properly store your filament here

Where to throw print fails and supports?

We kindly ask our customers to cope with plastic waste responsibly. Failed prints, support material, rafts, or brims should be liquidated according to the local guidelines. Paradoxically, in most cases, it is better to throw this waste in the regular trash can, as most of the material waste created in 3D printing is not identified, which causes more problems than benefits in the waste sorting facilities.

General information about CPE :

Printability of CPE filament

CPE is very easy to print. It is a good start to print CPE with your PETG settings with just increased temperature to 265/80. We highly recommend (after breaking our bed =] ) using an adhesive for printing CPE. The reason is not that it would warp or not stick on your bed, but exactly the opposite! CPE has too high adhesion to other materials like plastic, composites, and glass that it can damage your bed without any "middle-layer" in between the print and the bed.

CPE mechanical and thermal properties

CPE HG100 is simply PETG on steroids. It was specially developed for PETG lovers that needed more of the goodness. Here's why:

  • Durable, tough, long life of the material
  • Excellent impact resistance (doesn't break like basic PLA)
  • Excellent interlayer adhesion
  • Printability like PLA, no warping
  • Food contact safety (certificate available on request for Fillamentum)
  • Odorless
  • Great tensile and flexural strength, high hardness
  • Heat resistance of 80°C (HDT 0.45MPa)
  • The hardness combined with the high heat resistance makes it easy to post-process
  • Highly transparent in thin layers and a glossy finish.
  • 100% recyclable, bio-based, BPA free
  • Great resistance to oil and chemical compounds

Tips and other notable benefits

CPE is highly moisture sensitive. In order to maintain the filament quality, please keep it in a resealable sachet. If stringing occurs, re-dry the filament at 60°C for 4hours, and if it persists, check your retraction settings (you'll probably need to increase retraction by 1mm).

Fillamentum

Fillamentum is a Czech manufacturer of premium 3D printing filaments, known for a very wide colour range and unique shades. It is a favourite of makers who care about the look of their prints, and it also offers technical materials such as CPE, nylon and flexible grades. JustCreate3D keeps a broad Fillamentum selection in stock in its warehouse in Senec, Slovakia, and dispatches orders quickly.

Based in Czechia, Fillamentum is one of the trendsetters of the 3D printing material industry. It exports to more than 62 countries and has more than 15 years of experience in plastics processing. Its filaments come on transparent spools, so you can always see how much material is left.

Who is Fillamentum for?

Choose PLA Extrafill when colour and surface quality matter – for models, prototypes and decorations. CPE HG100 is a tougher, easy-to-print alternative to PETG for functional parts. The Flexfill range covers flexible parts from soft to semi-rigid, and the nylon grades suit wear-resistant mechanical parts; remember to dry nylon before printing.

Frequently asked questions

Where is Fillamentum made?

Fillamentum is a Czech brand. Its filaments are exported to more than 62 countries around the world.

What is CPE HG100?

CPE is a copolyester related to PETG. It was developed for users who want more toughness than PETG while keeping easy printing with no warping.

Which Flexfill should I choose?

The number in the name is the Shore hardness: the lower the number, the softer and more elastic the part. Flexible filaments print best slowly, ideally with a direct-drive extruder.
