How to store filaments
Humidity and UV light can decrease the filament quality and weaken its mechanical properties. We strongly recommend storing open filaments in a dry and dark place. You can find a complete guide on how to properly store your filament here
Where to throw print fails and supports?
We kindly ask our customers to cope with plastic waste responsibly. Failed prints, support material, rafts, or brims should be liquidated according to the local guidelines. Paradoxically, in most cases, it is better to throw this waste in the regular trash can, as most of the material waste created in 3D printing is not identified, which causes more problems than benefits in the waste sorting facilities.
PP 2320 | Fillamentum
Fillamentum Polypropylene PP 2320 is a technical filament featuring great mechanical properties including toughness, chemical resistance, and electrical insulation. It maintains great impact resistance even in very cold environments up to -40°C and also resists high temperatures up to 100°C.
This material repels water, therefore, it is ideal for making parts of tanks, pipelines, etc. Since it has good electrical insulation properties, it's suitable for the printing of electrical components as an alternative to PVC.
Features:
- Electrical insulator
- Thermal resistance up to 100 °C, withstands contact with hot water
- Low moisture and water absorption
- Good impact resistance
- Weather resistance
- Chemical resistance against a wide range of substances (e.g. acids, bases, salts, oils, water)
- Low density
- Flexibility down to -40 °C – standard polypropylene gets brittle below 0 °C
- Toughness, resilience in a thin layer
- Bendable without stress whitening
- Great interlayer adhesion and smooth surface
- Less flexible than competitive PP filaments
- Safe for food contact applications
- Safe for use in electrical and electronic equipment
General information about PP :
Polypropylene is a very popular material in the polymer industry but is underrated in the 3D printing industry. It is a semi-flexible material with high flexibility, incredible durability, low weight, and resistance to water and chemicals. Polypropylene (PP) is a thermoplastic semi-crystalline polymer exhibiting properties of good impact resistance and ductility. It also has a relatively non-polar molecular structure which makes it chemical resistant and thus ideal for use in food packaging and medical equipment. It is in fact well known in the adhesive industry that it is difficult to adhere polyolefin materials to other types of materials. This combined with the partial crystallinity makes it an especially hard material to print with.
How to print PP filament
PP will only stick to itself and therefore it is best to use regular packing tape on the hotbed. As a semi-flexible material, it is recommended to print slower than other filaments. We do not recommend exceeding 45mm/s. A closed chamber is not required.
PP mechanical and thermal properties
For 3D printing, PP is excellent for applications that need to be light, water-tight, or durable. Containers for food or liquids, as well as repeatedly bending clips and latches, are popular uses. Reinforced composite PP filaments are popular for printing parts for drones as they're light and durable. Some PP filaments have a density of only 0.75g/cc being 40% lighter than PLA.
PP is known for its wear, abrasion, and fatigue resistance. It is typically resistant up to 75°C with a Vicat softening temperature of 135°C
Tips and other notable benefits
Although PP is considered a food-safe material, keep in mind that food safety in 3D printing is a bit more involved than simply the filament’s material properties. PP is dishwasher and microwave-safe. PP doesn't absorb moisture and has an excellent interlayer adhesion.

Who is Fillamentum for?
Choose PLA Extrafill when colour and surface quality matter – for models, prototypes and decorations. CPE HG100 is a tougher, easy-to-print alternative to PETG for functional parts. The Flexfill range covers flexible parts from soft to semi-rigid, and the nylon grades suit wear-resistant mechanical parts; remember to dry nylon before printing.
Frequently asked questions
Where is Fillamentum made?
Fillamentum is a Czech brand. Its filaments are exported to more than 62 countries around the world.
What is CPE HG100?
CPE is a copolyester related to PETG. It was developed for users who want more toughness than PETG while keeping easy printing with no warping.
Which Flexfill should I choose?
The number in the name is the Shore hardness: the lower the number, the softer and more elastic the part. Flexible filaments print best slowly, ideally with a direct-drive extruder.
