RePLA+ | Filament-PM

RePLA+ is, similarly to RePETG, made from unreleased production filaments that didn't meet the dimensional quality requirements (diameter tolerance). It features the exact same properties as regular PLA+, including a matt surface after print and tougher mechanical properties compared to standard PLA, but it comes with a much better price tag.

How to store filaments

Humidity and UV light can decrease the filament quality and weaken its mechanical properties. We strongly recommend storing open filaments in a dry and dark place. You can find a complete guide on how to properly store your filament here

Where to throw print fails and supports?

We kindly ask our customers to cope with plastic waste responsibly. Failed prints, support material, rafts, or brims should be liquidated according to the local guidelines. Paradoxically, in most cases, it is better to throw this waste in the regular trash can, as most of the material waste created in 3D printing is not identified, which causes more problems than benefits in the waste sorting facilities.

RePLA+ did undergo the same strict quality control as other filaments and complies with the highest manufacturing standards of Filament-PM. It is important to note that this material won't have a consistent color as it is made from random regranulated filament. It is, although a safe bet to say that, the material will almost always have a darker tone. We consider this material as an ecological alternative as otherwise, the failed filament would have been thrown away.

This material is a great choice when you often post-process your print and you don't really care about the color.

General information about ECO :

In this category, we have regrouped all materials from our suppliers that do something more for the environment. We carefully select our suppliers not only by their product range, but we also seek to include in our portfolio materials that are respectful to the environment. We strongly support and participate in all meaningful ecological initiatives from our suppliers. We provide more information about our supplier's initiatives on our supplier pages which can be accessible by clicking on a brand name in the filters.

We consider an eco-friendly filament a filament that fulfills one of the following criteria:

  • Carbon foot-print compensation (for example, each sold spool of PolyTerra™ filament plants one tree)
  • Truly biodegradable material or material created from organic resources (not like PLA.. which is biodegradable mostly on paper)
  • Filaments manufactured from recycled materials like rPLA, rPETG, rPET, etc...

Other eco-friendly initiatives include:

  • Reusable spools systems
  • Paper spools

Filament-PM

Filament-PM is a Czech filament manufacturer with a wide and still growing range of materials, from everyday PLA and PETG to flame-retardant, ESD and fibre-reinforced engineering grades. It suits beginners and professionals alike. JustCreate3D keeps a large selection of Filament-PM in stock in its warehouse in Senec, Slovakia, and dispatches orders quickly.

Filament-PM was among the first producers of 3D printer filament, starting back in 2013. It is an official partner of PRUSA Manufacturing: the printed parts of the Prusa MK2 and MK3 printers were made from Filament-PM PETG. Today eight production lines run day and night. The company also watches its ecological footprint – its factory runs on renewable energy and it produces recycled filament from its own plastic waste.

Who is Filament-PM for?

Beginners will appreciate the reliable PLA and PETG; makers looking for something special can try the metal, marble or wood finishes. Engineers get a wide choice of flame-retardant (V0), ESD and carbon or glass-fibre reinforced materials from a single manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

Is Filament-PM PETG suitable for Prusa printers?

Yes. Filament-PM is an official partner of PRUSA Manufacturing, and the printed parts of the Prusa MK2 and MK3 printers were made from its PETG.

What is the difference between PLA and PLA+?

PLA+ is Filament-PM’s modified version of PLA. How it differs from standard PLA is described in detail in each product description.

Does Filament-PM make recycled filament?

Yes. RePLA+ and RePETG are made from the manufacturer’s own plastic production waste, so they are a simple way to print more sustainably.
