Pegasus PP-HGS25 Ultralight | FormFutura
Pegasus PP-HGS25 Ultralight utilizes hollow glass nanotechnology to achieve a level of lightness unmatched by other PP filaments on the market. With a material density of just 0.75 g/cc, it is 20% lighter than traditional PP filaments and 40% lighter than PLA. This filament is also reinforced with 25% hollow glass microspheres, made from soda-lime borosilicate glass, which adds dimensional stability, thermal insulation, and a lower dielectric constant. The resulting material is highly resistant to wear, abrasion, and fatigue, making it an excellent choice for applications such as automotive, drones, and floating structures. Additionally, the Pegasus PP-HGS25 has excellent chemical resistance and does not absorb moisture.

How to store filaments
Humidity and UV light can decrease the filament quality and weaken its mechanical properties. We strongly recommend storing open filaments in a dry and dark place. You can find a complete guide on how to properly store your filament here
Where to throw print fails and supports?
We kindly ask our customers to cope with plastic waste responsibly. Failed prints, support material, rafts, or brims should be liquidated according to the local guidelines. Paradoxically, in most cases, it is better to throw this waste in the regular trash can, as most of the material waste created in 3D printing is not identified, which causes more problems than benefits in the waste sorting facilities.

We can provide 1500g, 3500g, and 5000g packaging on-demand.
Printing tip: We encourage using a flowrate of ± 104% and keeping the speed low. The manufacturer recommends retraction of ± 5mm.
General information about PP :
Polypropylene is a very popular material in the polymer industry but is underrated in the 3D printing industry. It is a semi-flexible material with high flexibility, incredible durability, low weight, and resistance to water and chemicals. Polypropylene (PP) is a thermoplastic semi-crystalline polymer exhibiting properties of good impact resistance and ductility. It also has a relatively non-polar molecular structure which makes it chemical resistant and thus ideal for use in food packaging and medical equipment. It is in fact well known in the adhesive industry that it is difficult to adhere polyolefin materials to other types of materials. This combined with the partial crystallinity makes it an especially hard material to print with.
How to print PP filament
PP will only stick to itself and therefore it is best to use regular packing tape on the hotbed. As a semi-flexible material, it is recommended to print slower than other filaments. We do not recommend exceeding 45mm/s. A closed chamber is not required.
PP mechanical and thermal properties
For 3D printing, PP is excellent for applications that need to be light, water-tight, or durable. Containers for food or liquids, as well as repeatedly bending clips and latches, are popular uses. Reinforced composite PP filaments are popular for printing parts for drones as they're light and durable. Some PP filaments have a density of only 0.75g/cc being 40% lighter than PLA.
PP is known for its wear, abrasion, and fatigue resistance. It is typically resistant up to 75°C with a Vicat softening temperature of 135°C
Tips and other notable benefits
Although PP is considered a food-safe material, keep in mind that food safety in 3D printing is a bit more involved than simply the filament’s material properties. PP is dishwasher and microwave-safe. PP doesn't absorb moisture and has an excellent interlayer adhesion.

Who is FormFutura for?
FormFutura suits makers who want one supplier for both standard and technical work: designers who need a special look (metal-filled or textured PLA), engineers printing outdoor parts in ASA or polypropylene, and anyone printing complex shapes with soluble supports. Resin users will find general-purpose and engineering resins from the same brand.
Frequently asked questions
Which FormFutura support material should I choose?
Match the support to your main filament: AquaSolve is made for PLA, Atlas Support for PETG and Helios Support for ABS and ASA. PVA-type supports absorb moisture quickly, so store the spool dry and dry it before printing if it has been open for a while.
Do I need a special nozzle for MetalFil?
Yes. According to FormFutura, MetalFil should be printed with a hardened nozzle of 0.4 mm or larger, with retraction enabled. It works with full-metal, PEEK and PTFE hotends and with both direct drive and Bowden extruders.
Where are the FormFutura resins?
The Platinum LCD and Engineering SLA Series resins are in our resin section, not among the filaments.
